37 Summer Bucket List Ideas for Gay Men (Travel, Adventure, and Living Your Main Character Era)

Guys… summer is when we, as gay men truly come alive. The hikes…. the men… the hook ups… the joy… the freedom… the VIBES… it’s all about us all the time. We are the moment.

The sun is out, the shirts are off, and suddenly everyone is outside living their best lives.

Whether you're traveling the world, exploring your city, or just trying to have a more interesting summer than last year, this is your reminder that you deserve to be the main character of your own life.

One thing I’ve learned from traveling the world — from Puerto Vallarta to Paris to Bangkok — is that the best memories don’t happen by accident.

They happen when you decide to live a little more.

So, instead of letting summer just “happen,” I put together a Gay Summer Bucket List full of ideas for adventure, connection, and a little bit of chaos (the good kind).

Some of these are travel goals. Some are personal goals. Some are… let's just say very gay goals.

Pick a few. Try something new. And make this summer one you actually remember.

How To Make Your Own Summer Bucket List

Your bucket list doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s.

Maybe you want:

  • a hot boy summer

  • a travel-the-world summer

  • a romantic European summer

  • or a self-care glow-up summer

The point is to live intentionally instead of just scrolling Instagram watching other people do it.

Ask yourself:

  • Where do I want to go?

  • Who do I want to meet?

  • What stories do I want to tell by the end of the summer?

Then write them down. Because the difference between a fantasy and a plan is putting it on your calendar.

The Ultimate Gay Summer Bucket List

Travel & Adventure

Visit Puerto Vallarta during Pride or Bear Week
There is a reason PV is one of the gay capitals of the world. Beach days, drag shows, rooftop parties, and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Get my guide here.

Take a spontaneous international trip
Book the flight first. Figure out the rest later. Some of my best travel memories started this way.

Do a gay beach day
Whether it's Playa Los Muertos in PV, Fire Island, Mykonos, or Sitges — there is nothing like a gay beach in summer. Get a list of all my favorite gay beaches here.

Take a sunset boat cruise
Something about the ocean, a cocktail, and a sunset just hits differently. My favorite gay cruises here.

Go on a solo trip
Traveling alone can change your entire perspective on life. Check this list for the best places to travel solo, also maybe a good time to plan something around pride somewhere you haven’t ever been before.

Take a gay cruise
Imagine a floating Pride festival. That's basically what these are. My favorite gay cruises here.

Visit a new city just for the nightlife
Sometimes the best way to experience a place is through its dance floor.

Social & Main Character Moments

Have a rooftop cocktail night with friends
Bonus points for a Sunday Funday!

Go to a drag show in a new city
Drag is one of the best parts of queer culture. Check out this list for the best drag shows.

Dance until sunrise
Everyone should do this at least once a summer.

Host a gay dinner party
Invite friends, cook something good, open some wine, and talk about life.

Go to Pride in a city you've never been to
Every Pride has its own personality.

Make a new friend while traveling
One of the most beautiful parts of travel is how easy it is to connect with people. I love meeting people from all over the world… While I enjoy solo traveling, its nice to meet new folks in different ways of life.

Personal Glow-Up Energy

Start a gym routine for summer
Not for anyone else — but because feeling strong feels good.

Take more photos of your life
Your future self will be glad you did. I love setting up my camera on a tripod and just using Lens Buddy app and snapping a new thirst trap or two to gag the girls lol.

Upgrade your summer wardrobe
A few great outfits can change your entire confidence level.

Take yourself out on a solo dinner date
You deserve nice things — even if you’re the one giving them to yourself.

Try something that scares you a little
That’s usually where the growth is.

Relaxation & Self-Care

Have a full spa day
Massage, sauna, the works.

Watch the sunset somewhere beautiful
The beach, a rooftop, a mountain — doesn’t matter.

Do a digital detox day
No Instagram. No TikTok. Just life vibes.

Start journaling about your travels
Memories fade faster than you think. This is something I need to do a better job with but I think its really cool to caputre photos and videos so you can look back on it later…

Spend an entire day at the beach doing nothing
Sometimes the best plan is no plan.

Culture, Food & Experiences

Take a cooking class abroad
Learning food from another culture is one of the best travel experiences.

Try a restaurant you’ve never heard of
Some of the best meals happen this way.

Go to a music festival
The energy of thousands of people dancing together is unmatched.

Visit a museum in a city you travel to
Travel isn’t just parties (even though those are fun too).

Find the best local street food
This is one of my favorite things to do when I travel.

Your Main Character Summer Starts Now

Here’s the thing…. a lot of people spend the whole summer watching other people live their lives on Instagram. But the truth is — those moments only happen because someone decided to say yes to life. Try to make this the first summer that you don’t say no to anything.

Yes to the trip.
Yes to the party.
Yes to the adventure.

So this summer?

Book the flight. Go to the party. Talk to the cute guy. And remember: The best stories rarely start with playing it safe.

Have a blast and enjoy the summer of 2026! I’m excited to see what y’all do… share your plans below and you can always hit me on Instagram or TikTok DMs and invite me to your shenanigans!
