The Best Gay Hotels in Los Angeles — Ranked Just in Time for Pride
Los Angeles has always had a complicated relationship with gay culture.
Hollywood loves us on screen but WeHo? WeHo is us. West Hollywood is its own city — and baby, it's been LGBTQ+ governed since 1984. Even though, the nightlife has changed it up a bit — its still gay, for now.
This isn't just a gay-friendly neighborhood. It's the highest concentration of queer residents per capita of any city in the United States.
And with WeHo Pride Weekend happening June 5–7, 2026 at West Hollywood Park and the official LA Pride Parade rolling down Hollywood Boulevard on June 14 — you've got two full weekends of gay chaos to plan around. Hotels will sell out. So you’re best to book early, boo.
Here's my ranked list of the best gay and gay-friendly hotels in Los Angeles — heavy on WeHo, because that's where the magic lives.
The "Drag Diva Ratings" — same rules apply:
10/10 – Crowned Queen: Must-stay perfection.
8–9/10 – Fan Favorite: Stunning, with minor quirks. "Book it, boo."
6–7/10 – Safe Bet: Comfortable, but maybe missing the extra glitter.
5 or below – Girl…: Not everyone deserves a sash.
1. Kimpton La Peer Hotel (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 10/10
If WeHo had a crown, Kimpton La Peer would be wearing it during Pride weekend. This is THE hotel for Pride in West Hollywood — it's literally steps from the parade route and walking distance to every iconic bar on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Kimpton brand has always been a safe haven for LGBTQ+ travelers, and La Peer leans all the way into that. Beautiful rooms, Ladyhawk restaurant on site, and a staff that actually gets it. This is your base camp for Pride weekend, period. Book it before it's gone — and trust me, it goes fast.
2. Andaz West Hollywood (Sunset Strip) Drag Diva Rating: 9.5/10
The Andaz was the first hotel on the Sunset Strip and still commands that energy. It's earned its "Gay Travel Approved" certification and regularly hosts events during LA Pride season. Stylish rooms, some with Hollywood Hills views, a rooftop pool, and a location that puts you at the gateway between WeHo and Beverly Hills. For the gay traveler who wants to feel seen and luxurious at the same time — this is your girl. Book her before she’s all filled up ;)
3. Hotel Ziggy (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 9/10
Hotel Ziggy is a vibe. This is one of the official OUTLOUD Pride Weekend hotel packages this year — meaning they're fully in it for Pride. The saltwater pool is everything, and the rock-and-roll aesthetic gives the whole property a creative, artsy energy that attracts the fun crowd. Not your average stuffy hotel — more like staying at a really cute friend's house that happens to have a DJ and a pool bar. If you're coming for the OUTLOUD Music Festival specifically, just stay here and make your life easy. Grab a room before she’s sold out!
4. Le Parc at Melrose (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 9/10
Tucked just off the action, Le Parc is for the gay traveler who wants boutique luxury without the chaos of Santa Monica Boulevard outside their window. All-suite property, rooftop tennis court with city views, and a cozy elegance that feels more like a high-end apartment than a hotel. It's also one of the official OUTLOUD Pride Weekend Ultimate Package hotels this year — so the receipts are there. Come here to reset between Pride events. You'll be grateful for the quiet.
5. Petit Ermitage (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 9/10
This one is a hidden gem and I will not let it stay hidden. Petit Ermitage bills itself as a "romantic city oasis where lovers, friends and strangers meet" — and that energy is real. A 4-star boutique hotel near WeHo's nightlife with a private rooftop pool, poolside cabanas, and a cocktail bar that goes hard. The vibe is artistic and intimate — less see-and-be-seen, more experience something beautiful. For couples especially, this is your spot.
6. The Chamberlain (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 8.5/10
The Chamberlain is what I call "Old Hollywood daddy energy" — and I mean that as the highest compliment. All-suite boutique hotel, rooftop with views, and a discreet, sophisticated vibe that attracts a slightly more low-key but still very gay crowd. Steps from the action but somehow always feels a level above the noise. Great for the traveler who's been to WeHo before and wants comfort over spectacle.
7. The London (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 8.5/10
British glam, LA swagger. The London WeHo brings a rooftop pool, sweeping city views, and enough marble to make your Instagram stories sing. The energy here is elevated — this is for the gay traveler who dresses for dinner and means it. Not the cheapest option, but the views and the aesthetic more than justify it. A great choice if you want to feel glamorous during Pride without being directly in the middle of the street fair madness.
Post will continue after this… if you book through me I may earn a small commission and you’ll help support the blog:
8. Palihouse (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 8/10
Palihouse has that classic-meets-modern thing going on that feels very LA without trying too hard. Rooftop lounge, fitness center, in-room dining, and close proximity to The Abbey, Rage, and Revolver — the holy trinity of WeHo nightlife. The staff is warm, the aesthetic is chic, and it's a reliable choice for first-timers to WeHo who want a comfortable, gay-welcoming base without breaking the bank on luxury.
9. Ramada Plaza by Wyndham (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 7.5/10
Listen — don't sleep on the Ramada just because the name doesn’t scream glamorous. This is the gay budget hero of WeHo. It's affordable, centrally located, frequently hosts queer-friendly events, and during Pride weekend it becomes a whole scene of its own. If you're coming to LA for the first time and you want to be in the thick of WeHo without spending $400 a night — this is your girl. Just know: parking is pricey and the amenities are basic. But the location more than makes up for it. Plus, you can’t go wrong with the cruising scene that goes down here… Just pop open Grindr or Sniffies around there and you’ll see what I’m talking about, boys.
10. Le Montrose Suite Hotel (West Hollywood )Drag Diva Rating: 7.5/10
Le Montrose sits in a residential pocket of WeHo that makes you feel like a local rather than a tourist — and I love that for you. The rooms feel more like mini-suites, there's a rooftop pool, and The Abbey is a ten-minute walk away. The restaurant Privato inside is a solid option when you want to decompress between Pride events. It's a home-away-from-home energy, and honestly? Sometimes that's exactly what you need after a full day on Santa Monica Boulevard in June heat. Book this one up because it WILL SELL OUT SOON!
11. Chateau Marmont (Sunset Strip) Drag Diva Rating: 8/10
You know the name. You've seen the photos. Chateau Marmont is one of the most iconic hotels in LA, and it has always attracted a heavily LGBTQ+ crowd — probably because creatives, artists, and queer people have always understood that this place operates differently from everywhere else. Castle-inspired exterior, heated outdoor pool, lush gardens. It's not in WeHo proper but it's on Sunset Boulevard and deeply woven into LA gay culture. For the traveler who wants history, mystique, and the chance to say "I stayed at the Chateau" — here you go.
12. Hotel Bel-Air (Bel-Air) Drag Diva Rating: 8/10
Okay, this one is not in WeHo. It's a 15-minute drive away and it's in a neighborhood where the streets literally have no signs because the residents don't want you to find them. But Hotel Bel-Air is a fantasy — and sometimes you came to LA to live in a fantasy. Five stars, a property favored by Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, and rooms named after natural landmarks. This is for the gay traveler treating themselves to something truly extraordinary. You can Uber to WeHo for Pride and return to absolute serenity. I see you.
13. AC Hotel by Marriott (Beverly Hills) Drag Diva Rating: 7/10
Marriott has been doing right by the LGBTQ+ community and the AC Beverly Hills is Travel Proud certified — meaning it's not just tolerant, it's intentional. Free bikes, a sleek modern aesthetic, and proximity to both Rodeo Drive and WeHo (less than 15 minutes away). If you want Beverly Hills elegance with a slightly more approachable price point than the Waldorf, this is a smart pick. Good for the traveler who wants to explore all of LA, not just the WeHo bubble.
14. Sofitel Los Angeles (Beverly Hills) Drag Diva Rating: 7/10
French sophistication in Beverly Hills — across from the Beverly Center and close to Melrose, Rodeo Drive, and Sunset. Sofitel has a track record of being welcoming to LGBTQ+ guests globally, and this property carries that energy. Gorgeous rooms, impeccable service, and a je ne sais quoi that makes you feel like you're somewhere more European than Californian. A solid option for the traveler who wants luxury with a slightly more polished, low-key vibe. She’s close to the mall and you’re sure to have a ball, book it today!
15. The Charlie (West Hollywood) Drag Diva Rating: 8.5/10
The Charlie is WeHo's best kept secret and the reviews back it up — guests describe it as "the best boutique hotel experience in West Hollywood and possibly LA." Villa-style units with full kitchens, impeccably kept rooms, and a staff that is genuinely phenomenal. It has the privacy and elegance of a high-end residence with all the perks of a hotel. For the gay traveler who values discretion and quality over spectacle — the Charlie is your answer. It doesn't need to announce itself. That's the point.
17. Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills) Drag Diva Rating: 8.5/10
If you came to LA to feel like a star — not just a tourist — the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is your moment. This is Hilton's crown jewel in Southern California, and it earns every bit of that reputation. Italian marble, cherry wood, gold leaf, and every room has a terrace or balcony with sweeping views over Los Angeles. The property even offers a Rolls Royce house car for short trips — because of course it does. Rodeo Drive is a seven-minute walk away, and WeHo is a five-minute drive. It's not in the middle of the Pride action, but honestly? After a full day on Santa Monica Boulevard, coming back to this is the reward. Popular nearby gay spots like The Abbey and HiTops are all within a five-minute drive. Treat yourself, boo. You deserve it.
A Few Notes Before You Book:
WeHo Pride and LA Pride are two separate events — WeHo Pride is June 5–7 in West Hollywood, while the official LA Pride Parade runs down Hollywood Boulevard on June 14. If you can swing both weekends, do it.
West Hollywood is not walkable from other LA neighborhoods — plan for Uber (Get my discount here), Waymo (Driverless cars), or rideshare everywhere. But once you're IN WeHo, you can walk to almost everything.
