Algo Bueno Might Have the Best Fried Chicken in Puerto Vallarta
You know I’m always gonna put you on to some good food. And listen — I’m from Louisiana. Fried chicken is literally engrained in my bloodstream. We love it. We eat it. We thrive when fried chicken is done right. So trust me when I say… I don’t play about this.

On my quest to find the best fried chicken in Puerto Vallarta, I think I’ve finally met a real contender — like, southern-approved contender.
Meet Algo Bueno. Located next to the one-six-one bar, at C. Rodolfo Gómez 179.
They recently relocated from the Versalles neighborhood to Zona Romántica, and while I do love Versalles… I live in ZR. So this is both a blessing and a threat to my waistline because baby… this spot is officially in heavy rotation.
The Original Chicken Sando
What makes it hit? They don’t over-batter the chicken. It’s light, airy, crispy — not greasy, not heavy. The flavor is there, the crunch is there, and the balance is chef’s kiss. Add the pickles, that sauce that knows exactly what it’s doing, and the soft brioche bread? Yeah. Dangerous.
I got the sandwich. My friend got the wrap (he’s had the sando before), and still ordered wings to go — which tells you everything you need to know. No notes.
Humberto’s Wrap
The owners? So warm. So welcoming. I’d walked by a few times before and met one of them, told him I’d be back… and when I finally came through? I was VERY glad I did. The food was incredible, and that agua fresca to wash it all down really sealed the deal for me.
I will absolutely be back. Repeatedly. With zero shame.
Food: 9.2/10
Vibe: 8.8/10 (casual, friendly, neighborhood gem energy)
Will I Go Again?: 1000% yes — pray for my waist

Edit (January 2025): I got a chicken sando and wings to go… and y’all I don’t what they do to the chicken but its so juicy and so flavorful… its limey, its seasoned to perffection, and juicy AF…
