Playroom: The First Queer Gamer Lounge of Its Kind in Puerto Vallarta

Okay, so full transparency — I am not really the gamer type. Like… at all. I never really have been but I do like a good time!

Boardgames, card games, video games… They really have it all.

And when one of my friends opened a new queer gamer lounge in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, I had to show up and support, andddddd get into it.

Welcome to Playroom, the newest LGBTQ+ spot shaking things up in Zona Romántica. And let me tell you — this place is not your average “grab a drink and flirt” kind of bar. It’s giving community meets curiosity. Think: board games, console gaming, themed nights, workshops, and yes… a touch of kink (it’s called Playroom for a reason 👀).

Playroom, where play time meets bar time

The space itself feels cozy but edgy — part café-bar, part creative social dungeon (their words, not mine). It’s where gamers, creatives, and the just-plain-curious come to connect, co-work, compete, or just vibe over a cocktail. And honestly? It’s a vibe Puerto Vallarta didn’t even know it was missing.

You’ll find it tucked right in Zona Romántica at Venustiano Carranza 370 — open to everyone with an open mind and a playful spirit. Whether you’re there to roll dice, play Mario Kart, or just people-watch with a drink in hand, it’s a space that celebrates individuality in all its colorful, chaotic glory.

Congrats guys! (Photos all courtesy of Cooper)

So yeah, maybe I’m not the gamer type… but I am the “support your friends and find new queer hangouts” type. And Playroom? Definitely worth pressing start.
