The Best Pizza in Puerto Vallarta (Pizza El Punto San Pancho, Los Muertos Brewing & L’Angolo di Napoli)

Let me start out by saying… I may know a thing or two about pizza. I lived in New York City for 5 years and tried my hand at a lot of slices.

Look at the pizza that I used to get in New York:

Annnnnd, for what it’s worth, not a damn thing, BuzzFeed is still showcasing my image on this video (I’m really not bitter about it tbh):

Mind you, I’m not even in the video… LOL! What a weird time.

Anyway, y’all don’t care about that… y’all wanna know where to get good pizza in Puerto Vallarta? Well, you’re in the right place.

Sometimes, you just need a good slice. And let’s be honest — as much as we love tacos, birria, and ceviche, there are nights when nothing hits quite like a cheesy, oven-baked, perfect pizza. Luckily, Puerto Vallarta has a few hidden gems. No, like, frfr. Some of the best pizza I’ve had — not even gonna lie!

Here are some of my absolute favorites when that pizza craving kicks in:

Pizza El Punto San Pancho – My top pick!

Pizza El Punto San Pancho in Puerto Vallarta

Food: 10/10 — NO NOTES.
Vibe: Outdoor seating, casual and comfy. Right by the church in Zona Romántica, close to the pier.
Will I Go Again: Absolutely — it’s dangerously close to where I’ve been staying.

San Pancho Pizza in Puerto Vallarta

If I could only eat one pizza in Puerto Vallarta for the rest of my life, it would be Pizza El Punto San Pancho. It’s that good. The crust is thin but perfectly crisp, the cheese is that beautiful golden brown, and the toppings are always fresh.

You can sit outside, people-watch, sip a drink, and enjoy the ocean breeze while the church bells ring nearby. It’s got that cozy, neighborhood feel that makes you want to linger long after your last bite. Whether you’re grabbing a pie to go or eating in, San Pancho Pizza never disappoints.

Los Muertos Brewing – Great place to watch a game!

Los Muertos Brewing in Puerto Vallarta

Food: 8.5/10
Vibe: Loud, lively, and perfect for groups — right in the heart of Zona Romántica.
Will I Go Again: Yep — especially when I want beer and a slice.

Los Muertos Brewing is a Puerto Vallarta classic. It’s a go-to spot when you want a cold craft beer and a pizza that feels hearty enough to soak it up. The pizzas here are thick, cheesy, and unapologetically satisfying — especially after a long day at the beach.

The place can get crowded (especially on weekends), but that’s part of its charm. It’s a little slice of Vallarta energy — buzzing, social, and full of locals and tourists mixing over beer flights and slices. If you like your pizza with a side of live energy and good conversation, this is your spot.

L’Angolo di Napoli

Food: 7/10
Vibe: Authentic Italian, cozy, and full of charm — feels like a little corner of Naples tucked away in Vallarta.
Will I Go Again: Absolutely — especially for date night or a chill dinner with friends. Seating is outside… just FYI in case you’re not used to PV HEAT.

If you want a pizza that tastes like it came straight out of an Italian nonna’s oven, L’Angolo di Napoli is where you go. Everything about this place screams authentic. The dough is soft yet crisp, the sauce tastes homemade, and the cheese stretches just right when you pull that first slice.

I don’t remember exactly what I had, but it was delicious, as you can see above… very traditionally lookin and tasting.

The staff are friendly, the setting feels intimate, and the open-air layout makes it a great place to sit and people watch while you eat... If you’re craving real Italian pizza, this might be the best you’ll find in all of Puerto Vallarta.

After visiting and living here for over 3 years, I finally put everything I know about Vallarta, in one place, get the guide here.

Final Thoughts

Puerto Vallarta might not be the first place that comes to mind for pizza, but these spots prove otherwise. Whether you want a chill outdoor bite near the pier (San Pancho), a buzzy brewpub hangout (Los Muertos Brewing), or authentic Italian craftsmanship (L’Angolo di Napoli), you’ve got options.

Each brings its own vibe — and together, they prove that PV’s pizza scene is alive, cheesy, and thriving.

Pia Pia Pizza — Mexico’s Little Caesar’s

Pia Pia … and Dominos are that GIRL! I love love love a stuffed crust pizza and they both do it really well.
